The G flat Mixolydian scale consists of seven notes. These can be described as steps on the guitar fingerboard according to the following formula: whole, whole, half, whole, whole, half and whole from the first note to the same in the next octave.
The Gb Mixolydian is a mode of the B Major Scale. It contains exactly the same notes, but starts on another note.
The Gb Mixolydian is the same as the Gb Major apart from one note, the seventh in the scale.
Mixolydian can also be described as a Dominant mode. It includes all the notes of the related Dominant 7th chord, which is characterized by the minor seventh interval (as seen in the comparison below).

  1 2 3 4 5 6 b7
Gb Mixolydian Gb Ab Bb Cb Db Eb Fb
Gb7 Gb   Bb   Db   Fb

This scale is used in styles such as funk, blues and rock. The b7 creates a darker sound compared to Major.
One way to learn this scale is to think about it as a Major scale with a flattened seventh (Fb instead of F in case of Gb Mixolydian).
